Foreclosure Up Again in February

Posted Thursday, March 12, 2009

February 2009 foreclosure filling came as a shock to many in the real estate industry. With all the recent government intervention on mortgages with Freddie Mac and Fannie May foreclosure fillings were expected to go down. Just the opposite happen.

Foreclosures went up by over 6 percent. In some areas or states like South Carolina the fillings were up over 30 percent. South Carolina had previously been a state that was not affected by the down turn in the real estate market. in fact last year their real estate market was holding steady with minimal changes like the rest of the nation.

The top foreclosure states as of February 2009 are Florida, Nevada, California and Phoenix.
